• Catawba Nation becomes North Carolina's ninth state-recognized tribe (theonefeather.com) — Kings Mountain’s Two Kings Casino Resort is central to the Catawba Nation’s newly affirmed status as North Carolina’s ninth state-recognized tribe, with a much larger permanent casino complex planned through 2027. The tribe’s gaming compact sends a share of table-game revenue to the state and supports a foundation focused on conservation, education, and economic development in communities near Kings Mountain.
   

• PBS North Carolina Celebrates America 250 On 'NC Weekend' (pbsnc.org) — Kings Mountain residents will see their own Kings Mountain Historical Museum spotlighted in PBS North Carolina’s America 250 coverage, highlighting local stories from the 1780 battle and its overlooked women and children. The NC Weekend series and a July 2 special will tour Revolutionary War sites statewide, many reachable as day trips from Kings Mountain, with several episodes streaming through August.
