• ‘Huge strides': Lake Lure marina reopens after Helene devastation (cardinalpine.com) — Washburn Marina in Lake Lure is back open after Tropical Storm Helene, restoring over 200 boat slips and reconnecting the lake to Morse Park and the main beach. Town officials say this is a major economic and recreational milestone, with a new floating boardwalk already in place and a marina gas station and temporary tour office building coming soon.
