• Morganton intersection upgraded after students struck by vehicles (wsoctv.com) — Drivers and pedestrians near the North Carolina School of Science and Math campus in Morganton will see major safety upgrades at the West Fleming Drive intersection after two students were hit in separate incidents. The city, state, and school collaborated to lower the speed limit, rebuild the crosswalk, add a new signal, and construct a pedestrian island to make crossings safer. 
• Lonesome River Band (wdav.org) — Bluegrass fans in Morganton can look forward to Lonesome River Band performing at CoMMA Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 19, 2027, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets range from $13 for youth to $48 for adults, with all attendees, including infants, required to have a ticket at the 401 S. College Street venue.
