• Pineville Town Hall reopens after deadly high-speed crash; library still closed (qcnews.com) — Pineville Town Hall, along with Pineville Communications Systems and Pineville Electric business offices, has reopened to the public after a deadly April crash left a gaping hole in the shared building. The second floor is now accessible again, but the Pineville library branch in the same structure remains closed, with holds still being handled through another location.
   

• 5-Year-Old North Carolina Boy Khalil Ali Echoles Stabbed To Death By Father In Pineville (thencbeat.com) — A 5-year-old boy was fatally stabbed inside his home at Sabal Point Apartments in Pineville after police say his father forced his way in just after midnight on July 9. Officers rushed the child to the hospital but he did not survive, and the father was later arrested nearby and is now jailed on a first-degree murder charge with a court date set for July 30.
