• Structure Fire Claims One in Tabor City (columbuscountynews.com) — A woman died in a house fire on Shea Street in Tabor City Wednesday night, with officials saying smoking materials near her oxygen may be to blame. Fire Chief Jeff Fowler said crews arrived within minutes but couldn’t reach her because flames around the hospital bed were too intense. Multiple neighboring departments, along with Tabor City EMS and police, assisted at the scene.
