• Elwood Mills, 86 (portcitydaily.com) — An 86-year-old Wilmington resident who was born in Tabor City has passed away, leaving family and friends across southeastern North Carolina mourning his loss. A devoted church member, Army National Guard veteran, and avid golfer, he will be remembered for his service and love of family. A memorial service and visitation are planned this Saturday in Wilmington.
