• Wolverines deliver shutout at Mitchell - The Tryon Daily Bulletin (tryondailybulletin.com) — Local soccer fans have plenty to cheer about as Polk County’s Wolverines dominated Mitchell 6–0 in a conference road match, with three goals in each half. Hurley Bell netted two, Kenley Savaia added a brace, and strong team play kept Mitchell scoreless as Polk improved its impressive season record and prepared to visit East Henderson next.
   

• Polk County educators chosen for Slater Excellence in Teaching Awards (tryondailybulletin.com) — Several Tryon Elementary teachers have been awarded 2026 Slater Excellence in Teaching grants, funding trips to Amsterdam and Japan and specialized literacy training they’ll bring back to local classrooms. Overall, nine Polk County educators were selected by the Polk County Community Foundation to pursue professional development that aims to boost student success across area schools.
