About:
Each time children get out their art supplies,
they are ready for another adventure. It’s an
expedition into their inner world where they
discover and sort out the ideas and feelings
about who they are and develop critical
thinking skills. This is a process based art
class where we will discuss and see works by
artists relevant to each lesson, and create
small scale personal works.

Ethal Messica invited me to begin teaching at Tryon Yoga Center, and I’m excited to create a dynamic and inspiring program there.

In the past, I’ve worked with students of all ages—including one I mentored privately for over four years until she left for university, and another young artist just beginning his college journey. Earlier in my career, I also founded a company called Art Class that offered creative programs for children.

My classes are process-based, emphasizing exploration, self-discovery, and authentic expression. Each session includes discussions about artists relevant to the lesson, a short demonstration, and time to create individual works. While I provide structure and guidance, the goal is not to replicate but to discover one’s own artistic voice through the process.

My past classes have explored a wide range of two- and three-dimensional projects. We’ve worked with materials such as pen and ink, acrylic paint, collage (with paper and 3D objects), recycled materials, clay, fashion, etc
