• Dallas Woodhouse Suggested Early-Voting Changes in Columbus County, Text Shows (borderbelt.org) — Whiteville is one of three Columbus County towns singled out in a text from then-state auditor’s liaison Dallas Woodhouse as essential early-voting sites, sparking questions about outside influence on local decisions. The county’s Republican-led board ultimately backed four sites instead of five, so the State Board of Elections will now decide the final early-voting plan, which could shape how easily Whiteville residents cast ballots this November.
