1. 3 pets rescued, 2 die in fire on Somerset Drive (wilsontimes.com) — A Tuesday afternoon house fire on Somerset Drive in Wilson displaced two adults and two children, with three pets rescued and two lost despite a fast response from Wilson Fire/Rescue Services. Firefighters quickly contained the accidental, electrical-related blaze to one room, limiting damage but leaving smoke throughout the home, and multiple Wilson agencies assisted on scene.
   

2. Big Innings Lead Hill City Past Wilson (oursportscentral.com) — Wilson baseball fans saw a rough night as the Hill City Howlers exploded for six runs in the second inning and rolled to a 14-1 win over the Wilson Warbirds at Wilson Ballpark. Wilson managed just one run but will try to bounce back Friday at 7:05 p.m., with limited tickets still available for the next home matchup.
   

3. Imagination Station leadership roles change (wilsontimes.com) — Wilson’s Imagination Station is entering a “rebirth” as Wilson native Joseph C. Knight returns home to become executive director on May 4, while fellow Wilson native Brooke Farmer shifts to director of exhibits and facilities. Together with the board, they’ll overhaul exhibits, upgrade the building, and drive a new five-year plan to better serve Wilson children, families, and schools with hands-on STEAM learning.
   

4. 1-Year-old Brooks Ambrose Killed After Wandering Onto NC Highway 42 In Wilson County (thencbeat.com) — A 1-year-old boy was struck and killed Tuesday night on NC Highway 42 near Sadie Road in Wilson County after wandering into the eastbound lane and being hit by a tractor-trailer, according to state troopers. Authorities say the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating, and investigators currently see no signs of speeding, impairment, or reckless driving, calling it a tragic accident.
