Melanie Miller Champions Regional Projects, Votes in Support of Capital Budget Bill (ohiohouse.gov) — Ashland residents stand to see over $1 million in state capital budget funding for local projects, including upgrades to the Ashland Theatre, Safe Haven shelter, Freer Field, and the PumpHouse District. Rep. Melanie Miller backed the statewide bill, which now heads to the governor and also funds a Loudonville trail connector and multiple Medina County improvements. 
• Ashland County 4-H garage sale supports local youth (times-gazette.com) — Ashland County families can support local 4-H youth at the Big Green Garage Sale June 18–20 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds, with food available while you shop. Donations of clean, gently used items are being accepted June 13–16, and proceeds fund scholarships, camps, community projects, and other programs benefiting Ashland County 4-H members.
• Central Ohio young women prepare for Miss Ohio competition (dispatch.com) — Ashland High School will host all Miss Ohio and Miss Ohio’s Teen competitions this year because Mansfield’s Renaissance Theatre is closed for restoration, bringing the statewide pageant spotlight directly into town. Central Ohio contestants will first appear in the Miss Ohio Parade in downtown Mansfield on June 14 before competing on Ashland’s stage later in the week.
