• Former city councilman pleads guilty (norwalkreflector.com) — A former Bellevue city councilman has pleaded guilty to multiple felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a September incident investigated by Bellevue police and the Huron County Sheriff’s Office. He admitted to drug and theft offenses involving a firearm, along with assault, in exchange for other counts being dismissed, and is scheduled for sentencing on July 21.

• Dayton approves 2026-27 budget amid $6 million funding drop (linknky.com) — Dayton has approved a sharply reduced 2026–27 budget but kept most departments stable, including a 6% funding increase for the shared police and fire services it operates with nearby Bellevue. Bellevue’s own 2026–27 budget, which affects that joint safety funding, is scheduled for a council vote Wednesday night.
