Multiple Road Closures Announced in Belmont and Monroe Counties (yourradioplace.com) — Drivers in Belmont County should prepare for a full closure of County Road 80 (Lloydsville-Bannock Road) for culvert repairs, with no through traffic allowed. Nearby Monroe County will also see several weekday daytime closures on Sykes Ridge, Krebs Hill, and Baptist Ridge roads starting April 20 for slip repairs and culvert work, so plan alternate routes and extra travel time.
   

2. Shadyside students take part in mock DUI trial after crash scenario (wtrf.com) — Students at Shadyside High in Belmont County took part in a realistic mock DUI trial following a staged fatal crash, learning firsthand how drunk driving decisions play out in court. Local legal professionals and law enforcement joined the program to stress safe choices ahead of prom and graduation season.
   

3. Belmont College to host Big Machines Fair in St. Clairsville (wtrf.com) — Belmont College is inviting Belmont-area residents to its free Big Machines Fair in St. Clairsville on Friday, May 15, featuring heavy equipment, simulators, and live demonstrations. The all-ages event runs 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and highlights careers in trucking, welding, construction, and public safety. Food trucks and hands-on activities will be available throughout the day.
   

4. Police Use Former EORH Building For Training (theintelligencer.net) — If you noticed a lot of police cars at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, it was just a large training exercise for Belmont County law enforcement and first responders. Agencies from the sheriff’s office, coroner, and departments in Shadyside, St. Clairsville, Powhatan, Bellaire, and Barnesville used the still-empty building to practice coordinated response skills.
