BG Police respond to scams involving fake charity and jury summons (bgindependentmedia.org) — Bowling Green police are investigating two recent scams, one involving a woman allegedly soliciting fake charity donations from East Wooster Street businesses and another where a local woman was tricked into sending $250 via a MoneyPak card over a bogus jury-duty threat. Officers have requested a theft warrant for a Detroit suspect and are warning residents to be cautious of unsolicited donation or court-related calls.

LaRose visits Buckeye Girls State, swears in newly-elected officials (sent-trib.com) — Buckeye Girls State is underway this week at Bowling Green State University, where Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose swore in newly elected student officials and urged them to embrace leadership and civic duty. Speakers highlighted the program’s 80th anniversary, its focus on hands-on government and consensus-building, and the confidence-building impact it has on young women from across Ohio.

Ohio lawmakers pass voter ID, Medicaid bills as data center measure stalls (toledoblade.com subscription) — Ohio lawmakers advanced several major bills that could affect how Bowling Green residents vote and access Medicaid, including a constitutional amendment on voter ID co-sponsored by Sen.
