• Brecksville city workers, City Council, to receive active-shooter training in light of North Royalton murder (cleveland.com) — Brecksville is rolling out ALICE active-shooter training for all city workers and offering it to City Council members, prompted by the recent killing of a North Royalton official. Led by two Brecksville police instructors, the sessions will cover survival decisions, lockdowns, evacuation, and basic lifesaving skills. City leaders are also weighing additional security measures, such as metal detectors, for municipal buildings. 
• Two suspects arrested after felony shoplifting at home depot leads to multi-agency pursuit (news5cleveland.com) — A police pursuit that began after a reported felony shoplifting at a Copley Township Home Depot ended with two suspects arrested on I-77 North in Brecksville Wednesday afternoon. Copley and Richfield officers joined the chase, using pursuit termination tactics to stop the truck in Brecksville without injuries to officers or other drivers. Authorities say charges are forthcoming and plan to release bodycam and dashcam video next week.
• Cleveland.com Ohio girls soccer top 20: 3 new teams in the mix (cleveland.com) — Hudson's girls soccer team boosted its statewide standing with a 3-0 shutout over Brecksville, part of a strong 7-0 start in this week's Ohio Top 20 rankings. The statewide poll highlights how competitive Northeast Ohio programs remain, with several local teams climbing or debuting after impressive early-season runs. Brecksville's loss came against one of the state's hottest squads.
