Ohio University Chillicothe opens Kids in College summer registration (chillicothegazette.com) ā Families in Chillicothe can now sign up Kā8 students for Ohio University Chillicotheās Kids in College enrichment program, running June 1ā12 on campus. Kids can choose $50 classes in art, STEM, marine biology, comedy, cake decorating, and more, offered in morning and afternoon sessions. Registration is open through May 18, with optional Tāshirts available.

2. Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents Across City (sciotopost.com) ā Chillicothe police handled a busy day of calls on April 15, ranging from domestic disputes and welfare checks to theft, trespassing, and criminal mischief across multiple neighborhoods. Officers also served several warrants, including arrests tied to theft and an outstanding warrant at the Ross/Pickaway County line, with many cases still under investigation.

3. Ross Co. softball coach and prison officer put on leave amid student rape allegations (sciotovalleyguardian.com) ā Authorities in Chillicothe and Ross County are investigating allegations that a high school softball coach, who also works at a state prison, assaulted a 17-year-old student he coached. The coach has been placed on leave from Huntington High School while deputies review evidence from the reported incident near the school, and no charges have been filed as the case remains active.

4. Support Given to Ross Park District by Founder of Recreational Trail Effort (iheart.com) ā A founder of the trail running from Chillicothe to Washington Court House recently urged Ross County Commissioners to keep backing the Ross County Park District, which manages much of the route. With county funding secured and a $1.5 million grant in hand, the district plans major erosion repairs near Frankfort while volunteers prepare popular Cookie and Pie Ride events on the Paint Valley Recreational Trail.
