More than 1,000 Cincinnati residents still waiting on trash pickup, almost 2 weeks since last pickup (wcpo.com) — More than 1,000 Cincinnati households, including Oakley residents, are still waiting on trash pickup after nearly two weeks of delays blamed on a staffing shortage in the city's Public Service Department. Piles of garbage, odors, and blocked sidewalks have prompted over 1,100 complaints, and the city now says all trash, including overflow, will finally be collected this week.
   

2. Cincinnati Public Schools holds business meeting before tax levy goes on ballot (wlwt.com) — Cincinnati Public Schools leaders just held a business meeting as they brace for a November vote on a five-year, seven-mill property tax levy that would raise about $66 million annually starting in 2027. After already cutting 111 positions and adding unpaid days, officials warn more reductions could follow if voters reject the levy, which would cost about $245 yearly on a $100,000 home.
   

3. 18-year-old accused of shooting teenager in East Price Hill (wlwt.com) — A 16-year-old was seriously wounded in a Sunday night shooting on Ring Place in Cincinnati's East Price Hill, and 18-year-old Adrian Washington is now jailed on multiple felony charges. Neighbors described hearing an argument, collision, and gunshots, and police say there are no additional suspects. The incident marks the second teen shooting in East Price Hill in recent weeks.
