Truck ferry service planned across Lake Erie between Cleveland and Ontario (news-herald.com) — A new truck ferry linking the Port of Cleveland with Wheatley, Ontario is planned to launch in early 2028, offering up to 300 round-trip truckloads per day across Lake Erie. The service aims to ease congestion at traditional border crossings, strengthen regional supply chains, and give Cleveland-based shippers faster access to Canadian and European markets while reducing highway wear and diesel emissions.
   

2. New report projects further CMSD enrollment decline over next decade (news5cleveland.com) — Cleveland's public school system is bracing for another decade of enrollment decline, with a new report projecting CMSD could lose about 4,300 more students after already consolidating schools under Building Brighter Futures. District leaders say finances have improved but still forecast running out of cash by 2030, meaning further consolidations or cuts for Cleveland families remain on the table.
   

3. Judge wants records on alleged cop-killer's mental health: I-Team (fox8.com) — A Cuyahoga County judge in Cleveland has ordered a mental health facility to turn over full treatment records for Delawnte Hardy, who is accused of fatally shooting Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter in 2024. The records, restricted to attorneys and experts, will be used for an independent psychological evaluation as prosecutors continue to question Hardy's long-term competency for trial.
   

4. Downtown Cleveland Inc., and city seeking input on next grocery store after Heinen's closure (cleveland19.com) — With Heinen's now closed at East 9th and Euclid, Downtown Cleveland Inc. and the city are asking residents what kind of grocery store should come next. Consultants are studying shopper needs and potential sites, while existing downtown grocers and markets try to fill the gap until a new store is secured.
   

5. Riders adjust as RTA cuts service on nine routes, ends B Line trolley (cleveland19.com) — Cleveland transit riders are facing longer waits and fewer options after RTA cut service on nine routes and ended the downtown B Line trolley, with more reductions proposed for December. The agency says it needs to save $4.1 million annually and plans to seek a 0.5% sales tax increase on the May ballot, while advocates warn riders' commutes and appointments will be hit hard.
