• PUCO splits decision on Aqua Ohio rate increase (wytv.com) — Water customers around Lake Tomahawk in Columbiana County will soon see higher Aqua Ohio bills, with usage-based charges rising about $9 to $15 a month for typical households. Fixed monthly fees stay the same, and Aqua says the extra money will fund infrastructure and operating costs, despite concerns from residents about already high living expenses. 
• Valley ex-cop pleads guilty to threatening public officials (wfmj.com) — A Columbiana resident and former police officer has pleaded guilty in Columbiana County to multiple felony intimidation and retaliation charges tied to threats against local public officials and others. He faces a recommended sentence of six months in custody and five years of community control, with strict mental health treatment and no-contact conditions for victims.
• Southern Local board names new superintendent (morningjournalnews.com) — Columbiana County residents have a new Southern Local Schools superintendent, as longtime local educator Mary Alice Sigler returns to lead the district. With deep experience in special education and prior roles at Southern Local and the Columbiana County Educational Service Center, she’ll step in as interim immediately before starting a three-year contract in August.
