Fiber-optic digging paused in Cortland (tribtoday.com) ā Cortland City Council has halted all new underground fiber-optic boring for 90 days while officials write stronger rules after a recent gas leak tied to Brightspeedās work. Council also advanced the new Safety Services Complex, swore in Fire Chief Todd Price, and approved several infrastructure projects, including East Main Street resurfacing and a new downtown event space.

2. 2 measles cases confirmed in Trumbull County; 1 visited local Walmart and ER (wytv.com) ā Two measles cases have been confirmed in Trumbull County, and local health officials are urging unvaccinated residents to check their status and watch for symptoms. 3. Gas prices up 30 cents in Northeast Ohio (vindy.com) ā Gas prices across Northeast Ohio have jumped about 30 cents in a week, with averages topping $4 per gallon in nearby cities. For Cortland drivers, GasBuddy users reported Quinnās in town among the lowest Trumbull County prices at $3.85 per gallon, giving locals one of the better options as regional costs climb. Ā Ā Ā
