Dayton VA to continue outreach as suicide prevention month event spotlights support (dayton247now.com) — Local veterans and caregivers just gathered at the Dayton VA for a National Suicide Prevention Month program that used comedy to open up tough conversations about depression and suicide. Leaders highlighted the Veterans Crisis Line at 9-8-8, option 1, which connects callers to trained responders and resources anywhere in the country, including right here in Dayton.
   

2. Wright State faculty say civics center faculty overpaid (daytondailynews.com) — Wright State University's new Civics and Culture Workforce Development Center is paying some visiting faculty significantly more than comparable instructors elsewhere at the university, raising questions from the faculty union about salary equity. University officials say hiring follows established processes and emphasize the center's mission to support civics education and workforce development tied to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
   

3. A runaway goat damaged cars and fled police. Now he's found his herd. (adn.com) — Dayton residents can finally relax: the runaway goat that was leaping onto parked cars has been caught by Dayton police and rehomed through the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Now named Cardio, he's living on a Fairborn goat farm with new herd mates, where his climbing instincts are channeled into farm life instead of neighborhood vehicles.
   

4. Man gets 32-36 years for killing 4 people in crash near Dayton International Airport (wdtn.com) — A driver has been sentenced to 32–36 years in prison for an April 2024 crash near Dayton International Airport that killed four people and seriously injured a fifth. The court also imposed a lifetime driver's license suspension, closing a case that has weighed heavily on families and travelers in the Dayton area.
