MAP: Cuyahoga County is fixing 22 local roads through 2028 — see if your community is on the list (cleveland.com) — East Cleveland drivers should know that Eddy Road between Euclid and Hayden is slated for county-funded resurfacing or reconstruction as part of a 22-road improvement package through 2028. Cuyahoga County’s 50/50 program will cover up to half the project cost, with most work expected in 2027, aiming to make local commutes smoother and safer. 
2. How to apply for lead safe home repairs from Cuyahoga County (signalcleveland.org) — East Cleveland families in older homes can now apply for free lead-safe repairs through a new Cuyahoga County Board of Health grant program, with up to $10,000 available per home. Eligible households must have a child age 5 or younger, meet income limits, and apply quickly because funds are first-come, first-served through 2030.
3. Men sentenced for burning car of missing Warren man found fatally shot (cleveland.com) — East Cleveland is again at the center of a troubling homicide case, as the body of missing Warren resident Juvar King was discovered in an abandoned Chapman Avenue building in 2025. Two men were just sentenced for burning the car he’d been driving, though no one has been convicted in his killing, leaving unanswered questions about violence crossing into the city.
4. What we learned about how Cuyahoga County will spend $4.37 million on housing (cleveland.com) — East Cleveland residents should note that most of Cuyahoga County’s new $4.37 million housing package won’t automatically flow to the city, but some projects here can still qualify when they serve nearby communities and include city HOME funds. The plan mixes developer loans, down payment help, and a flexible $2 million pilot fund that could support repairs, accessibility upgrades, and new housing options countywide.
