Fairborn baseball also edged Stebbins and Carroll in close games, and boys tennis split recent matches with Sidney and Springfield, all in a packed regional prep roundup. 
• Gov. DeWine announces $3.4 million in grants for local crime reduction efforts (dayton247now.com) — Fairborn residents should know the Fairborn Police Department is receiving $34,604 from Ohio’s Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program to support local crime-fighting efforts. The funding, part of a $3.4 million statewide package, will help pay for investigative overtime, technology upgrades, and targeted patrols in high-crime areas across the region.
