• Free community event for Summit County senior citizens taking place Oct. 2 (akron.com) — Fairlawn seniors and their families can head to Summit Mall today, Oct. 2, for the free Summit Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring health screenings, flu shots, games, and over 60 information booths. Parking and admission are free, with bingo, a prize wheel, and welcome bags for early arrivals. 
• Teacher-awarded grant brings graphic design equipment to Copley High School (akron.com) — Students in the Copley-Fairlawn district will soon turn their digital artwork into real products thanks to a $4,300 grant bringing Cricut machines to Copley High School's graphic design classes. The program aims to teach design, production, and small-business skills while eventually creating custom shirts, stickers, and graphics for school clubs and organizations.
• Community remembers SkyWay Drive-In as more than a place to eat (scriptype.com) — Fairlawn residents are reflecting on the July closure of SkyWay Drive-In's last location, a longtime hangout known for its onion rings and post-game car meetups.
