• Kent State Basketball to Host Flashes Tip Off Event October 20 at the MAC Center (kentstatesports.com) — Kent residents can enjoy a free Kent State basketball Tip-Off event at the MAC Center on Tuesday, October 20, with Fan Fest starting at 6:30 p.m. You'll meet the men's and women's teams, play games, win prizes, and connect with local business partners, all while getting fired up for the new season.
   

• Oteil Burbridge Heads West with Oteil & Friends for March 2027 Tour (notreble.com) — Music fans in Kent can catch John Scofield's "Electrospective" tour at The Kent Stage on October 16, part of bassist Oteil Burbridge's busy 2026–27 schedule. The broader tour includes Make-A-Wish benefit shows and a newly announced Oteil & Friends run heading west next March, but the Kent date offers a rare chance to see this lineup locally.
