• Classroom damaged, no injuries in fire at Holy Family School in Stow (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — A classroom fire at Holy Family Parish School in nearby Stow was quickly contained Monday, with no injuries and damage limited to one room, thanks in part to mutual aid from the Kent Fire Department. Crews from Kent and several surrounding communities helped Stow firefighters extinguish the blaze, ventilate the building, and ensure the rest of the school remained safe while investigators determine the cause. 
• Chaucer and Trauma (medievalists.net) — Kent readers may be interested that longtime Kent State English professor emerita Susanna Fein has co-edited a new scholarly collection, "Chaucer and Trauma." The book gathers nine essays examining how Chaucer's works depict violence, grief, and other forms of trauma, connecting medieval perspectives to issues that still resonate in today's conversations about suffering and survival.
