Diocese announces priests for St. Gerard in Lima, St. Mary in Blfufton (limaohio.com) — Catholics in Lima will see new leadership at St. Gerard Parish on July 1, when the Diocese of Toledo assigns the Rev. Daniel Borgelt as pastor and the Rev. Michael Bialorucki as parochial vicar and prison chaplain. The Rev. Kyle Gase will lead St. Mary Parish in Bluffton as Redemptorist priests depart the region.
   

2. Lima Memorial honors Swick, donors (limaohio.com) — Lima Memorial Foundation gathered local donors Thursday to honor CEO Mike Swick before his July retirement and recognize major contributors supporting the hospital. Community giving has recently funded advanced MRI, cardiac testing, sleep technology and echocardiography, with this year’s campaign focused on enhancing the patient experience for Lima-area residents.
   

3. Softball: Celina run-rules Lima Senior (limaohio.com) — Lima Senior’s softball team traveled to Celina, where the Spartans fell 18-1 in a lightning-shortened nonleague game despite an early home run from Angie Kohlhofer. Celina’s bats exploded in a 12-run third inning, while Lima Senior’s young roster continued to battle and gain experience on the road.
   

4. Lori Ellen McElroy, Lima, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Lima residents are mourning the passing of 71-year-old Lori Ellen McElroy, who died Saturday, April 11, 2026. Remembered for her deep love of animals and the calm they brought her, she leaves behind a close-knit family including her son, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Brown Funeral Homes.
