Adults can be screened for eligibility for no-cost eye exams and glasses, and meet with counselors who connect residents to programs that support independence and employment.

Judge keeps $50K bond for Belpre soccer coach accused of posting altered sexual image of child (wtap.com) — A Marietta Municipal Court judge has kept bond at $50,000 for a Belpre youth soccer coach accused of posting a fabricated sexually explicit image of a 12-year-old player online. The judge also barred him from any contact with minors and warned that additional charges could follow after a grand jury review, underscoring the seriousness of the case for local families.

Ohio woman forced to live as double amputee after wrong leg was removed (wlwt.com) — A 74-year-old patient is suing Selby General Hospital in Marietta after surgeons amputated her left leg instead of the right, leaving her a double amputee. The hospital admits the error was avoidable, says operating-room procedures weren't followed, and reports that involved staff are no longer in their positions after systemwide retraining.

'Farm 2 Table' provides Washington County food pantries with more than 6K lbs of meat following successful 2026 fair season (wtap.com) — A Marietta-based foundation is helping turn Washington County fair livestock sales into more than 6,000 pounds of locally processed meat for area food pantries. Through the Farm 2 Table program, buyers at the Waterford and county fairs directed purchases that will become lamb, beef, and sausage for families in need across Washington County.
