• Council seeks state funding for citywide paving (mariettatimes.com) — Marietta City Council is seeking $650,000 in state grant and loan funding for a 2027 citywide paving and ADA curb ramp project while also allocating $45,000 to cover firefighter overtime. Officials say accepting a loan may improve their chances for grant approval, and they confirmed Lancaster Street has reopened after sewer line repairs. 
• Grant funds counseling scholarships at Marietta College (mariettatimes.com) — Marietta College is launching a new online master's program in clinical mental health counseling and offering up to 20 full-tuition-equivalent scholarships for Ohio residents starting in 2027. Funded through the Ohio Behavioral Health Scholarship Program with matching aid from the college, recipients must later work in underserved Ohio communities, potentially boosting mental health services in and around Marietta.
