Vision 2050 highlights the Great Lakes Mall area for mixed‑use redevelopment and emphasizes protecting Mentor Marsh and nearby waterways, while encouraging more diverse housing options and redevelopment of older commercial sites that will shape how Mentor grows and changes through 2050.
   

• Week ending Sept. 19: Lowest diesel gas in Lake County reaches $5.29 (lakecountytimes.com) — Mentor drivers are seeing some of Lake County's higher diesel prices, with the county's lowest reported diesel cost at $5.29 per gallon for the week ending Sept. 19. A GasBuddy survey shows Lake County's diesel average at $6.37, slightly below the statewide average of $6.41, with detailed price comparisons across nearby communities like Willoughby, Painesville, and Wickliffe.
   

• Strongsville vs. Mentor volleyball: Cardinals unable to capitalize on opening-set win, fall, 3-1, to Mustangs (news-herald.com) — Mentor High's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 home match to Strongsville on Sept. 29, despite a dominant opening set and strong performances from its middle hitters. Coach Sam Weaver framed the loss as a learning step for the young Cardinals, who now look to rebound quickly with an Oct. 1 road match at Brunswick.
