Lake County OKs $412,000 sewer project for Mentor development (cleveland.com) — A major new development on Mentor's former Bolton Estate is moving forward with a 3,200-foot sanitary sewer extension along Center Street, approved by Lake County commissioners. Funded by the developer, the project supports planned housing, mixed-use space, commercial areas, and a large conservation area spanning Mentor and Kirtland Hills. 
2. Lake County Auditor's Office returns $750,000 to local communities (news-herald.com) — Lake County Auditor Chris Galloway is returning $750,000 from a real estate assessment fund to local entities, including $125,339 for Mentor Public Schools. The refund, based on each district's share of property taxes, comes after the office determined it had more than enough money budgeted for upcoming appraisal work.
3. Mentor overcomes adversity, defeats Olmsted Falls, 38-17 (news-herald.com) — Mentor's football team opened its season in dramatic fashion, breaking a 17-17 tie with Olmsted Falls by scoring 21 unanswered points for a 38-17 home win. Big plays from quarterback Brogan Jones and defender Marcus Cvetichan powered the surge, and the Cardinals now turn their attention to hosting Erie McDowell in Week 2.
4. Colleges reinstate ACT, SAT requirements, adding pressure for students (cleveland19.com) — A Mentor High School junior is juggling AP classes with renewed pressure to prepare for ACT and SAT exams as many top colleges restore testing requirements.
