• Four Injured in Hit-and-Run Buggy-Truck Accident April 16, 2026 by Staff Report (geaugamapleleaf.com) — Four Middlefield Township youths were injured when a pickup reportedly struck their Amish buggy on Bundysburg Road in Parkman Township and fled the scene. All were taken to the hospital by Middlefield EMS, with two suffering serious injuries, and troopers say the identified driver now faces pending felony charges related to leaving the scene and causing injury. 
• Middlefield Village Wins Lawsuit Against Former Employee April 16, 2026 by Ann Wishart (geaugamapleleaf.com) — Middlefield Village has won a court judgment of more than $38,000 against a former police department employee who defaulted on a training repayment agreement. Village officials say the employee left after the village paid for police academy training, despite an understanding he would serve as an officer for several years, and council recently discussed the outcome.
