Junior Alex Nagel delivered the walk-off single in the eighth, while pitcher Hal Gillespie stranded seven runners in relief as the Green Wave showed resilience despite injuries and high expectations after last season’s deep playoff run.
   

• Man suspected in Hebron fatal tractor crash arrested after search (abc6onyourside.com) — A 77-year-old Newark resident driving a tractor was killed in a crash on State Route 79 near Hebron, and an Iowa man has been arrested on an aggravated vehicular homicide charge. Investigators say witnesses saw the suspect’s truck driving recklessly before it struck the tractor, which was completely destroyed. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
