ā¢ North Olmsted hires new economic and community development director (cleveland.com) ā North Olmsted has hired Michiel Wackers as its new economic and community development director, filling a key vacancy just a month after Max Uptonās departure. Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones says his background in planning, zoning and redevelopment will be crucial as the city tackles projects like reimagining Great Northern Mall and other redevelopment challenges in this landlocked community.

ā¢ Governor DeWine Announces Grants for Local Crime Reduction Strategies (ohio.gov) ā North Olmsted is set to receive $76,500 in state funding so its police department can expand crime prevention work around Great Northern Mall, including a dedicated crime prevention officer and new technology. The grant is part of a $3.4 million statewide package Governor DeWine announced to help 44 agencies strengthen violent crime reduction efforts. Ā Ā Ā
