• Nolan Bonner, Hoover fend off Louisville in tense rivalry showdown (cantonrep.com) — Hoover High School's football team in North Canton edged Louisville 27-18 Friday night, with quarterback Nolan Bonner sealing the rivalry win on a late touchdown run after returning from a thumb injury. The tense game at Memorial Stadium featured big passing plays, multiple safeties, and a strong defensive response after Hoover fell behind 14-0 early.
   

• 'Lord, make this a land of holiness.' Canton man launches Stark County prayer event (cantonrep.com) — A new countywide "Prayer on the Border" event on Oct. 10 will include North Canton as one of 24 designated Stark County prayer sites, inviting residents to join a one-hour, nondenominational time of reflection. Organizer Roy Peet Poillon hopes people across the county will unite in praying for past, present, and future residents and for Stark County's direction.
