• Proposed Ohio law aims to protect officials on military deployment, as Parma dispute intensifies (cleveland.com) — Parma residents are closely watching a dispute over whether deployed school board member and Air Force reservist Ashley McTaggart can keep serving remotely while overseas. A new Ohio Senate bill would protect deployed officials from being penalized for absences, but the Parma City School Board has yet to formally debate her status, drawing vocal support, criticism, and tense public meetings.

• Court hearing for former Brooklyn police sergeant accused of punching restrained woman (cleveland19.com) — A recent pretrial hearing at Parma Municipal Court focused on a former Brooklyn police sergeant accused of assaulting a restrained Parma woman during her 2025 arrest. Video shows the woman strapped in a restraint chair, complaining of pain before being struck, and she now plans civil action.
