• Licking County seeks public input to develop comprehensive growth plan (newarkadvocate.com) — Licking County is asking residents, including those in Pataskala, to help shape a new long-term growth plan, with a workshop at Pataskala Grace Church on June 30 from 6–7:30 p.m. This LC Forward plan will guide decisions on land use, housing, conservation, and infrastructure as the county grows. You can attend any of the three June sessions or share ideas online. 
• Ohio had record number of bear sightings in 2025 (newarkadvocate.com) — A recent state wildlife report confirms black bears are turning up even near Pataskala, where one was spotted in 2025 for the first time in two decades. Ohio logged a record 537 bear sightings across 69 counties, and officials say the animals are reestablishing themselves. • Ohio Public Safety Leadership Academy Class Graduation Set for Tomorrow (wktn.com) — Pataskala residents should know their police department is among agencies graduating leaders from Ohio’s Public Safety Leadership Academy in Columbus on June 12. The 11-week program provides college-level training to 30 officers from across the state. This added leadership training could influence how Pataskala’s department approaches community safety and policing in the future.
