• Piqua Commission appoints four individuals (miamivalleytoday.com) — Piqua’s City Commission filled one planning commission vacancy, renewed three historic review seats, and set a June 16 public hearing on the 2027 city tax budget. Commissioners also advanced a major 2026 street paving contract, discussed truck traffic, golf cart and e-bike registration, and noted strong turnout at the free Lock 9 summer concerts.

• MC Commissioners hears Deerfield Development flooding concerns (miamivalleytoday.com) — A Piqua resident living near Eagles Nest Pond warned Miami County commissioners that a proposed Whitetail Bend development in the former Deerfield area could dramatically worsen flooding along State Route 185. Commissioners and the county engineer pledged to review the plans while also advancing bridge, road, and zoning projects that affect travel and land use across the county.
