• Library officials respond to yet another challenge on Poland site (vindy.com) — Poland residents face a major decision about their local library as county officials stand by plans to relocate the Poland branch from South Main Street to Denver Drive despite new cost and sewer concerns raised by the Save Our Library group. Trustees say long‑term maintenance at the current Poland building is too expensive, while opponents argue renovation is cheaper and want more open dialogue before plans advance.
   

• Alberini charged with OVI, threatening police (vindy.com) — A Poland Village police stop on U.S. Route 224 led to multiple charges against restaurateur Michael Alberini, including OVI-related misdemeanors and felony failure to comply, after officers reported high speed, refusal of sobriety tests, and threatening remarks. He appeared in Struthers Municipal Court and is scheduled to return July 8 as the case proceeds alongside his existing probation.
   

• Carl 'Coop' Arthur Cooper, Poland, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Poland is mourning Carl “Coop” Cooper, a recent resident and longtime Trumbull-Mahoning Valley native who passed away May 31 at age 76. A Navy veteran involved in Apollo recovery missions and a 42‑year GM Lordstown worker, he was also a proud union member and devoted family man; per his wishes, no services will be held.
