• Quakers can't catch Girard (morningjournalnews.com) — Salem High’s softball team fell 13-4 to Girard at home Wednesday, despite three hits from Morgan Colian and two from Mikayla Sneltzer. The Quakers, now 1-4, head to Marlington today, while the roundup also notes results for several other area softball programs.
   

• Salem school board posts superintendent job (salemnews.net) — Salem City Schools has officially opened applications for its next superintendent, with details and forms available now on the district website under the employment tab. Board members say they’re seeking a leader who reflects Salem Quaker pride and community values, with interviews planned in multiple rounds starting in May and a possible hiring decision by June 1. Residents can also note the next regular board meeting on April 22 at 7 p.m.
