Two arrested after early-morning alleged burglary in Springfield (dayton247now.com) — Springfield police arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy after an early-morning aggravated burglary report on the 900 block of Sunset Avenue. SWAT officers executed a search warrant, and both suspects now face aggravated burglary charges while being held in Clark County facilities as the investigation continues.

2. Details released on Mad River Twp. crash (urbanacitizen.com) — State troopers from the Springfield Post have released details on a June 3 crash that shut down part of state Route 560 at Old Troy Pike in nearby Mad River Township. A Columbus driver in a Honda Civic was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign before colliding with a Freightliner driven by a Springfield resident; both were treated at the scene, and the investigation continues.

SOCHE Selects Three Wittenberg Employees for Annual Awards (wittenberg.edu) — Three Wittenberg University employees in Springfield have been honored with major Excellence Awards from the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education, recognizing standout teaching, service, and campus impact. Mikey's Pizza founder passes away at 34 (whio.com) — Springfield is mourning Michael Shaw, the 34-year-old Shawnee High School graduate who founded Mikey’s Pizza in 2015 and recently closed the shop while he was hospitalized. His family thanked Springfield residents for 12 years of loyal support that helped him realize his dream of owning and operating his own business.
