1. Stow plans first DORA near AMP. When will the entertainment venue open? (centredaily.com) — Stow is weighing whether to create its first Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area around the new Stow AMP entertainment venue on Norton Road, with a public hearing and possible council vote set for Oct. 22. The DORA would cover nearby shopping plazas, run daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and could be in place when the AMP's first concert series launches in early June.

2. Stow-Munroe Falls teacher receives $2,000 grant for drumming program (kentucky.com) — Students at Echo Hills and Fishcreek elementary schools in the Stow-Munroe Falls district will soon have more drums and percussion instruments, thanks to a $2,000 Voya Unsung Heroes grant awarded to music teacher Daniel Schneck. As the only Ohio educator honored this year, he'll expand a world music drumming program that builds cooperation, cultural understanding and confidence for hundreds of local children.

Stow man ordered to pay another $1M for deceit in fake body armor case (kentucky.com) — A Stow resident, Vall Iliev, has been ordered to pay another $1 million in a federal trademark case over falsely certified body armor sold to law enforcement and the public. His Ohio-based companies previously led to a prison sentence and millions in restitution, with Akron's SWAT team among those needing to replace unsafe gear.

4. Summit County Dispatch Center Named Ohio's Best (nordoniahills.news) — Emergency calls from Stow are handled by the Summit Emergency Communications Center, which has just been named Ohio Gold Star Dispatch Center of the Year. The county-run center serves multiple Summit County communities, and this statewide honor highlights the training, technology and teamwork behind the 911 responses residents rely on in their most stressful moments.
