You need both (timesreporter.com) — If you’re looking to adopt locally, the Tuscarawas County Humane Society in New Philadelphia is spotlighting two personality-packed pets: Odyssey, an energetic 4-year-old Golden Lab, and Chanel, a sassy dilute calico cat. The shelter on Tall Timber Road NE is open most afternoons and some evenings, giving Tuscarawas County families several chances each week to meet them in person.
   

• Tuscarawas County marks America's 250th with a free July 5 concert (timesreporter.com) — Tuscarawas County residents are invited to a free July 5 Celebrate America Community Concert at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas, preceded by a bring-your-own picnic. Indoors, you can also check out the Historic Builds Lego contest featuring local landmarks. Free tickets are required for the concert and can be picked up at the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market or the county Welcome Center in New Philadelphia.
