• Nursing home worker charged with stealing from blind resident's bank account: Police (newsnationnow.com) — Westlake police say a nursing home aide from Joshua Tree Senior Living in nearby North Olmsted stole $2,500 from a blind 86-year-old resident by repeatedly using her ATM card at a Citizens Bank branch in Westlake. The worker has been fired and arrested on theft-related charges, and investigators urge families of nursing home residents in the Westlake area to closely monitor accounts and visit often. 
• Massage therapist who worked in Strongsville, Westlake charged with rape, sexual battery and kidnapping (wkyc.com) — Police say a massage therapist who has worked in both Strongsville and Westlake faces multiple felony charges, including rape, sexual battery, gross sexual imposition, and kidnapping tied to a July 29 incident. Strongsville detectives are asking anyone in Westlake or elsewhere who believes they may have been a victim, or has information, to contact their detective bureau so they can identify additional victims and prevent further offenses.
