The child was safely reunited with the mother, and Greene County records show the man now faces multiple serious charges, including kidnapping, endangering children, and domestic violence.

2. Greene Co. prosecutors preparing for David Myers' next move (wdtn.com) — A long-running Xenia murder case is back in the spotlight as Greene County prosecutors prepare for possible new appeals from convicted “Railroad Spike Killer” David Myers after an appellate court revoked his new trial and bond. Myers, convicted in 1996 of killing 19-year-old Amanda Maher in Xenia, is now back in custody, while Maher’s family says they’re relieved but bracing for more legal battles.

3. Neighbors dismayed by chase, crash leading to baby's rescue in Boone County (wlwt.com) — A domestic incident that began near Xenia led to a multi-state chase ending in a violent crash into a Walton, Kentucky church, where officers rescued a two-month-old baby from the wrecked car. Police say the child’s father forced the mother out of their vehicle near Xenia before fleeing south; the baby is now safely reunited with the mother and the injured deputy has been released.

U.S. U-15 Girls National Team roster revealed ahead of trip to England (soccerwire.com) — One of the rising players on the latest U.S. Under-15 Girls National Team roster is midfielder Maddie James, who plays for Ohio Elite and hails from Xenia. She’ll join 19 other 2011-born standouts from across the country for training and two matches against England later this month at St. George’s Park, England’s national team center.
