• Western Reserve to close for railroad work (vindy.com) — Drivers in southern Mahoning County should prepare for Western Reserve Road to close for two weeks starting Sept. 14 so Youngstown & Southeastern Railroad can upgrade the crossing at Southern Boulevard. The work is one of the final steps in a $20 million widening project, with Youngstown-based Marucci and Gaffney Excavating as contractor and new signals and turn lanes aimed at improving long-problematic traffic and safety. 
• Community Foundation Seeks Applicants for Board Service (businessjournaldaily.com) — Youngstown's Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is inviting Mahoning and Trumbull County residents to apply for its board of directors, with no prior nonprofit board experience required. Board members help set strategy, attend quarterly meetings, serve on committees, and act as ambassadors, and the foundation is especially seeking people with strong local ties and lived experience in area neighborhoods.
• Flora Brings Valley Perspective to State Land Bank Leadership Role (businessjournaldaily.com) — From Youngstown, Mahoning County Land Bank director Debora Flora is now leading Ohio's statewide land bank association, giving the Mahoning Valley a powerful voice on demolition, housing, and redevelopment policy. Her term includes hosting the state land bank conference in Canfield, spotlighting local projects that tackle housing shortages and reuse vacant land across Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties.
