City finance officials explain that sales and use taxes, not property taxes, fund most local services like police and fire, and note that despite recent gains, overall revenue remains relatively flat.
   

• City shares update on fire at battery-recycling plant in Bartlesville (fox23.com) — Bartlesville officials say this week’s fire at the Blue Whale Materials battery-recycling plant was quickly contained to an outdoor storage area, with no injuries or evacuations needed. Regional fire crews and emergency managers coordinated the response, and residents are urged to sign up for the city–county mass notification system for future safety updates.
