Residents describe intense winds and possible tornado conditions, and city emergency management is now investigating why outdoor warning sirens were delayed, raising important safety questions for future storms.

3. $33M project aims to protect Port Muskogee from future flood damage (kjrh.com) ā A $33 million infrastructure project is moving forward to protect Port Muskogee from future flooding and repair damage from the devastating 2019 Arkansas River flood. Plans include a new heavy-lift dock, rail and safety upgrades, and better stormwater drainage, backed largely by a federal grant. Construction is expected to go out for bid in May and begin this fall.

Oklahoma bill works to regulate pool contractors after FOX23 investigations into unfinished projects (fox23.com) ā A Muskogee homeowner is among several Green Country residents who say a Tulsa-area pool company took tens of thousands of dollars and left them with unfinished projects or big holes in their yards. Their complaints helped spur House Bill 3338, which would license pool and spa contractors statewide and add protections against liens, and the measure has already passed the Oklahoma House.
