Oklahoma City heat wave leads to rise in heat-related emergencies, EMSA reports (koco.com) — Oklahoma City's ongoing triple-digit heat wave is driving a 37% jump in heat-related 911 calls, with EMSA already handling more cases than in the past two years. Medics urge residents to stay hydrated, watch for nausea, headaches, and heavy sweating, and call 911 if symptoms worsen, especially as more children are being found in dangerously hot cars.
   

2. 'Bold strides': Cybersecurity expert details new safeguards for OKC Flock cameras (okcfox.com) — Oklahoma City residents are seeing new privacy safeguards on the 90 Flock license-plate cameras used by OKCPD after the city council renewed a $270,000 contract amid controversy. Data sharing is now limited, retention cut to seven days, and access more tightly controlled, even as a cybersecurity expert warns that no system is completely hack-proof.
   

3. Warrant issued for former Oklahoma City school employee accused in minors case (okcfox.com) — An Oklahoma City-connected former school employee now faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly providing alcohol and marijuana to a former student she met while working in Oklahoma City schools. Investigators say text and social media records show her supplying vapes and marijuana pens, including items confiscated at John Marshall High School. Oklahoma City Public Schools emphasized the staffer is gone and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement.
   

4. Oklahoma City company wins multi-million contract to build F-16 parts for U.S. Air Force (news9.com) — A longtime Oklahoma City manufacturer has landed a five-year, $5–6 million contract to build critical F‑16 heat exchanger parts in partnership with nearby Tinker Air Force Base, bringing new local jobs for welders, inspectors, and technicians. City business leaders say the win strengthens Oklahoma City's role in national defense while boosting the local economy and beating out out-of-state competitors.
   

5. Oklahoma introduces digital driver's license for Apple devices (koco.com) — Oklahoma residents in Oklahoma City can now add their driver's license to Apple Wallet and use it as a digital ID at Will Rogers World Airport and more than 250 airports nationwide. The secure credential, which hides most personal details, will also work for age checks on tobacco and alcohol starting Sept. 14, though a physical ID is still recommended and required for traffic stops.
