📰 News we're reading

• Graduates recall 1964 desegregation of Sand Springs high school (tulsaworld.com) — Sand Springs’ own Charles Page High School is being remembered for peacefully desegregating in 1964, when nine Black students integrated the school and helped change local history. Alumni recall supportive classmates, new opportunities in wrestling and other activities, and a community that, they say, avoided some of the racial ugliness seen elsewhere. A plaque now honors those pioneering students and their courage.
