1. Tulsa to celebrate 10th annual Native American Day Oct. 12 (journalrecord.com) — Tulsa will mark its 10th annual Native American Day on Oct. 12 at Dream Keepers Park, featuring a parade, cultural performances, and tribal leaders. With Mayor Monroe Nichols as parade marshal, the celebration highlights Native culture, sovereignty, and economic contributions, and offers residents music, dances, and ceremonies, plus shuttle parking and a large tent in case of rain.
   

2. Tulsa Public Schools expands partnership with Tulsa Tech for new polytechnic high school (fox23.com) — Tulsa Public Schools is transforming Central High School into Oklahoma's first polytechnic high school, expanding its partnership with Tulsa Tech to give local students more direct pathways into high-demand careers. Tulsa teens will be able to choose focused tracks like health, transportation, technology, and professional services, with the goal of easing waitlists and improving access to higher-wage job opportunities.
   

3. Boomtown Tulsa shaped his father and the American histories he wrote (tulsaflyer.org) — Tulsa's boomtown past and the 1921 Race Massacre play a central role in a new biography of historian and former Librarian of Congress Daniel Boorstin, whose childhood here shaped his view of America. Author Jon Boorstin will be in Tulsa Oct. 7–8 for free talks at the Museum of Tulsa History and Jewish Federation of Tulsa, with books available for signing.
   

4. Tulsa State Fair fight involving teenagers raises safety concerns (newson6.com) — A large fight involving dozens of teenagers at the Tulsa State Fair has some local parents rethinking whether to bring their kids back this year. Tulsa County deputies say they quickly identified everyone who threw a punch, removed them from the fair, and are urging fairgoers to report any future fights or safety concerns so they can respond faster.
   

5. Supreme Court declines to hear former Tulsa officer Betty Jo Shelby's appeal (ktul.com) — A major federal court development in the Terence Crutcher case keeps a civil lawsuit against former Tulsa police officer Betty Jo Shelby moving forward, after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear her appeal. The ruling leaves in place a decision denying her qualified immunity, and the case is now set to return to federal court in Tulsa in February 2027.
